RSA Keynote

Why are overpriced cocktails in Rio a sign of revival in Detroit? How can the threat of the ‘population bomb’ be seen as a competitive advantage? How does the industrial revolution in Asia redefine what manufacturing can do for a modern economy?

Ruchir Sharma, one of the world 's largest investors in emerging markets for Morgan Stanley, visits the RSA to outline the shifting balance of global economic power and identify the stars of the future. He will argue that as an era of easy money and easy growth comes to a close, China in particular will cool down. Other major players including Brazil, Russia, and India face their own daunting challenges and inflated expectations, and the new ‘breakout nations’ may probably spring from the margins, even from the shadows.

Speaker: Ruchir Sharma, managing director, head of global emerging markets equity team, portfolio manager, and member of global tactical asset allocation investment committee, Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc.
